With estimated population of 2.1 million people, Beirut is the city of dreams for many people in Lebanon. This is a truly cosmopolitan city, and if you plan to start a business here, the opportunities are great. Finding offices for rent in Beirut is easy, but before you select one, here are some of the better tips that you need to know.

  • Research well. An office in Down Town might cost a lot more than one in Ain al-Mraiseh. Some parts of Beirut are obviously better than others, so find more about the city. You may also want to consider the location of your competitors, especially if you are a local business or trying to sell products within a region. Compared to some of the other global cities, Beirut is comparatively smaller, so if you can avoid a few expensive locations, you can save some money too.

  • Understand your requirements. Like in any other city, the size of the office largely determines the price you pay, keeping other factors constant. If you are a small business, a smaller office not over 40 sqm should suffice, while there are offices as big as 1000 sqm in Down Town. Down Town Beirut is expensive, because most of the international companies and banks are close by. Before you settle in on an option, do consider the possible need for expansion. You may want to have some extra room, so as to avoid shifting for at least a while.

  • Check online. Regardless of whether you are looking for offices or apartments for rent in Beirut, online real estate sites are your best bet. You can find credible properties listed there, and the best part is you can do your research without going for property hunting right away. The pictures are usually accurate, but you may want to go in person to check things. Shortlist at least four to five options in the same area, so that comparing choices becomes easy.

Lastly, don’t forget to set a budget. Having an office in Beirut is obviously more expensive than having one in Baabda or any other city in Lebanon. You need to be sure about paying the rent on time, and more importantly, if you can manage the business from the chosen office. Check online right away to shortlist a few choices and don’t shy away from asking questions related to the property.
